Fishing obviously entails catching fish. According to FAO statistics, the total number of fishermen and fish farmers is estimated to be 38 million. Fishing is an ancient practice that dates back at least to the Paleolithic period which began about 40,000 years ago from eastern Asia.
Fishing is a great outdoor activity that requires core strength, muscular endurance, balance, power and patience.
There are also an abundant nutritional benefits in eating fish, an excellent source for omega-3s. Studies suggest that high cholesterol and high blood pressure may be reduced with a diet rich in omega-3s. There is strong evidence that omega-3s may help prevent and treat atherosclerosis (clogging and hardening of the arteries) by inhibiting the development of plaque and blood clots. Omega-3′s also have shown improvements in morning stiffness and joint tenderness associated with rheumatoid arthritis, protective effect on brain aging and eye sight.
