Ribs are a good source of protein and with this reduced calorie recipe you can enjoy delicious ribs.
Serve with steamed vegetables.
Ingredients:
Two Racks Ribs Pork or Beef
BBQ Sauce
Salt & Pepper
Preferred Spices
Directions:
1. Start gas grill, turn the grill to medium, and close the lid.
2. Turn on the oven and set to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. Remove the ribs from the store packaging and wash with water.
4. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
5. Using a knife, separate the membrane from the meat on the backside (near the bones). This membrane may be difficult to locate a first, but will come off in a sheet with significant force.
6. Remove excess fat. This is a tedious process but will make a huge difference in calories saved.
7. Season as desired, salt, pepper and garlic are fine start. Using your fingers, spread the spices over the
ribs to coat thinly. You can add your favorite BBQ sauce as well and then add more BBQ sauce before ribs
are placed in oven.
8. Grill the ribs on medium for five minutes on each side and then remove from the grill.
9. Wrap each of the packages in aluminum foil, ensuring that the package is sealed tightly.
10. Place both racks of ribs in the oven and bake for 3 hours.
11. Remove the ribs from the oven. Remove the aluminum foil.
12. Smother with favorite BBQ sauce. Place back on grill for five minutes each side or until ribs are how you like them. This step is not necessary if you choose to smother with BBQ sauce while baking in oven.
