    Healthy Fats & Carbohydrates

You must cut foods that are high in Carbohydrates and high in Fat!   But the secret is to understand how you can eat small amounts of foods high in both carbohydrates and fat.

Cooking oils have become a staple in many of the goods that we eat, and these foods are generally high in fat and poor for our health. One of the ways to implement healthier cooking alternatives is to adopt a low fat diet or style of eating. If we actually intend to maintain a lifestyle that is healthy in order to boost longevity, build up our immunities and to stay fit and trim, then it is absolutely vital that we pay attention to the foods that we are putting in our bodies. Low fat diets are one of the most popular ways to do that. Cooking low fat recipes is one of the most vital ways that you can watch what you eat, becoming more conscious of your health in the process. Nothing good comes from eating high fat foods, after all.

    • First and foremost you need to learn what types of food are better for your diet because they are lower in fat. Some dairy products that offer low fat solutions are low fat cheese, yogurt and non fat milk.   Other examples of foods that are low fat include cereals, grains, pasta, meat, poultry, fish and some baked goods. These low fat foods offer tradeoffs, however. For example, many low fat food choices are higher in carbohydrates or higher in calories.
    • Every food is a balance between calories, fat and carbohydrates. Fat and carbohydrates are what contribute to a food’s calorie count. Foods that are low in fat tend to be higher in carbohydrates, while lower carbohydrate foods tend to be higher in fat.  There are cooking alternatives that you can choose that will allow you to avoid fatty cooking oils. For example, baking is a cooking process that often allows you to avoid fat filled cooking oils. When you do have to use oils, choose low fat oils like corn oil and olive oil for example.
    • Many recipes can be altered to allow you to use lower fat content ingredients. Familiarize yourself with lower fat options for many foods so that you can substitute them whenever you are trying to turn a recipe into a low fat alternative. When eating out, you should not have any trouble finding dishes and food items that are designed especially to suit the nutrition-conscious. Look for vegetable dishes and dishes that are cooked in lower fat oils, and choose baked foods instead of those that are fried for example. Low fat eating is not difficult, it simply takes knowing how to substitute lower fat foods into your recipes and knowing how to request lower fat dishes when eating out.
